The Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts 2019
Since 2000, the Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts have recognized Canadian artists for their remarkable careers in fine or applied arts, film, video, audio, or new media.
This year’s exhibition showcases the work of eight outstanding laureates: Stephen Andrews, Marlene Creates, COZIC, Lee-Ann Martin, Ali Kazimi, Andrew J Paterson, Jeff Thomas and Susan Edgerley (Saidye-Bronfman Award for excellence in the fine crafts). Created by the Governor General and the Canada Council for the Arts, these awards offer all of us an occasion to celebrate artistic excellence in Canada.
Organized by the National Gallery of Canada in collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts.
