The Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts 2016

NGC Magazine Article

Celebrating the best and brightest in Canadian contemporary art and craft, this year’s Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts exhibition will showcase the work of eight outstanding laureates: Edward Burtynsky, Marnie Fleming, Philip Hoffman, Jane Kidd, Wanda Koop, Suzy Lake, Mark Lewis, and William (Bill) Vazan. Created in 1999 by the Governor General and the Canada Council for the Arts — which also administers the Awards — they are among Canada’s most coveted art awards for career achievement.

The exhibition is organized by the National Gallery of Canada in collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts and the Governor General of Canada.
