Moyra Davey: The Faithful [Concordia University]
Since the beginning of her career in the early 1980s, Moyra Davey has continued to push the boundaries between photography, film, text and the human experience.
Moyra Davey: The Faithful features nearly forty photographs and six films by Davey. Developed by the artist, with National Gallery of Canada curator Andrea Kunard, the exhibition explores the artist’s trajectory through major mailed photograph projects, portraits of the detritus of everyday life, recent photographs of friends, family and animals, and films examining the work of authors, philosophers and artists.
One of the exhibition’s highlights is Davey’s new film, i confess, couple with related photographs reflecting upon her memories of life in Quebec during the Seventies and Eighties.
