Jonathan Shaughnessy is Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Canada. His exhibitions have included Human Scale (2016), 100 Years Today in Shine a Light: Canadian Biennial 2014 (201415) and Builders: Canadian Biennial 2012. He has curated numerous exhibitions across Canada, and has written essays in exhibition catalogues on the work of many Canadian and international artists. Shaughnessy is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa.

Join Jonathan Shaughnessy, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Canada for behind-the-scenes insight into the 2017 Canadian Biennial, a thrilling exhibition of recent acquisitions of Canadian and international contemporary art.  He will discuss the dynamic ways in which artists are engaging with the increasingly globalized world of contemporary art through a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, printmaking, video and installation-based practices.
