Join Mskwaankwad Rice for a conversation with Jaime Morse, Educator, Indigenous Programs and Outreach, about his efforts to revitalize his traditional language of Anishinaabemowin through music, art and over the airwaves.

Mskwaankwad Rice is an Anishinaabe from Waasaaksing. In recent years, he has sought to learn his traditional language of Anishinaabemowin in order to help revitalize and pass it on to future generations. He hosts a beginner Anishinaabemowin learning program, available to all on YouTube, and is involved in language revitalization efforts across Anishinaabe Akiing (Anishinaabe territory).

In English with a bilingual question period. Drop-in activity. No advance registration required. Space is limited. Included with admission to the Gallery.

Join us afterwards for a Woolands art mini-tour in the gallery space.

Mskwaankwad Rice will also be speaking about his role as a modern Indigenous touring musician after the TIFF Top Ten screening of Rumble on March 17.
