Join us for an engaging lecture and Q&A with international scholar Dr. Wayne Modest on how museums can help address the wounds of colonial history.

The Gallery and the Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis (CTCA) are pleased to present a thought-provoking talk by Dr. Wayne Modest, Director of Content from the National Museum of World Culture in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Drawing upon three episodes from Jamaica’s museological history, Dr. Modest notes that colonial injury can be ongoing and that, if museums were to reorient themselves around what he calls Limbo Time, they could begin to heal the wounds of history.

This event includes a 20-minute Q&A session, moderated by Ming Tiampo of the Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis at Carleton University.

For more detailed lecture information, visit the Centre for Transnational Cultural Analysis website (available in English only).
