Happy Goat Coffee Co. is an Ottawa-based coffee chain that specializes in expertly roasted beans, directly sourced from coffee farmers. Tavern at the Gallery

Tavern at the Gallery is a full-service patio and lounge in the Sunken Garden of the National Gallery of Canada. A varied but simple menu includes handmade pizza, Poke bowls, charcuterie boards, sandwiches, gelato and features full bar service including Tavern cocktails and a good selection of wine and beer.

  • Open daily 11am to late evening (weather dependant).
  • Seasonal patio, reservations available through website.
  • Welcomes all guests, including leashed dogs.

Cafeteria

The Cafeteria offers daily specials, salad and dessert bars, kids menu, made-to-order sandwiches and more in an informal, self-service atmosphere. It also features a glass rotunda, a private patio and an inspiring view of Nepean Point, the Ottawa River and Parliament Hill. 

Opening hours

NGC Members enjoy a 20% discount on food at the Cafeteria, with minimum purchase of $5.

Amenities

Need to check your coat, access to parking or a cash machine? Find out more about amenities at the National Gallery of Canada here.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is free of charge. Bags larger than 30 × 40 × 12 cm (12 × 16 × 5 inches), backpacks, luggage and umbrellas must be checked in the cloakroom, where you can also check your coat. Bags may be searched upon entering or leaving the building.

Lost and found

Have you left something behind at the Gallery? The Lost and Found is located at the cloakroom.

Strollers and wheelchairs

All galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. Strollers and wheelchairs are provided free of charge at the Foyer Information Desk. No reservation required.

Cash machines

There are two ATM machines at the National Gallery. One is located on the Ground Level between the Auditorium and the Lecture Hall; the other is on Level 1 in the Cafeteria.

Parking

Underground parking costs $2.75 per half-hour, up to a daily maximum of $14 (Members $12). The clearance for the underground parking garage is 1.8 metres (6 feet). Parking is also permitted on adjacent streets.

Group Amenities

Groups are welcome to the National Gallery of Canada and can benefit from reduced group entry fees and special services. All groups must reserve in advance to obtain a group admission rate. Learn more about group admission fees and amenities.
