Planned Giving
Art patrons across Canada and internationally give to the National Gallery of Canada Foundation because they care deeply about preserving our country’s visual arts heritage for future generations.
The decisions art patrons make regarding the timing of their gifts reflect their personal, financial, and philanthropic objectives. Many patrons choose to make gifts in their lifetimes in support of the Gallery’s current endeavours while at the same time providing for a lasting legacy in their estate planning. In doing so, they are able to fulfill their wishes while maximizing the benefits of their gifts – for themselves, their families, and for the Gallery through the Foundation.
Planned giving can take many forms:
- A bequest to the Gallery in a will or through a revocable trust
- Participation in a life income arrangement for the benefit of the National Gallery of Canada
- The naming of the Gallery as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or a life insurance policy
- A gift of real estate
*Gifts in any of these forms may be made in memory or honour of family and friends.
Donors are encouraged to have their plans reviewed by their professional advisors and by the Gallery.
Should you have questions or comments about planned giving, we welcome the opportunity to discuss options with you.
