Distinguished Patrons

The Distinguished Patrons and Distinguished Business Leadership Circle of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation represent a dynamic pan-Canadian and international community of philanthropists who share a powerful commitment to our country’s leading visual arts institution.

Distinguished Patrons give an initial, one-time contribution of $100,000 to the Foundation. They also provide ongoing leadership and support for National Gallery initiatives and special campaigns on a discretionary basis. The contribution of $100,000 can be made in a single payment or on a staggered basis over three years. It is through their invaluable support that the Gallery’s educational and social missions are fulfilled.

With a founding focus on national outreach and touring exhibitions, the initial group of Distinguished Patrons went on to raise $650,000 to establish an endowment fund for Canadian touring exhibitions and have supported major acquisitions including Canadian sculptor Joe Fafard’s magnificent Running Horses and Francesco Salviati’s Virgin and Child with an Angel. Distinguished Patrons now support a variety of Gallery initiatives in the Foundation’s key priority areas. It is with genuine thanks and appreciation that their names are recognized below.

Corporations who recognize the distinctive social and economic impact of cultural endeavours and the vital national role of the National Gallery of Canada are also invited to take a leadership role by giving a gift of $150,000 or more.
