Distinguished Patrons

The Distinguished Patrons of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation represent a dynamic pan-Canadian and international community of philanthropists who share a powerful commitment to our country’s leading visual arts institution.

Contemporary Art Patrons

The Contemporary Art Patrons program is comprised of a unique group of donors and connoisseurs who help the Gallery’s contemporary collections thrive.

Building the Collection

With a mandate to collect, preserve, and exhibit the finest works of art, from historic to contemporary, Canadian to international, the Gallery has achieved recognition as one of the most respected national art museums in the world.

National Outreach Program

Our National Outreach Program enhances the visibility of the collection, disseminates art historical knowledge, and enthralls Canadian and visiting international audiences across the nation.

Canadian Artists in Venice Exhibition Fund

The Venice Biennale is the only international visual arts exhibition to which Canada sends official representation. Artists showing at the Biennale raise their global profile and, by association, that of Canada and Canadian artists.

Canadian Artists in Venice Endowment

Launched in 2015, the fund provides vital support to Canadian Artists representing Canada at La Biennale di Venezia and a self-sustaining financial model for the future.

American Friends of the National Gallery of Canada

The American Friends of the National Gallery of Canada was launched in 2009 to build meaningful dialogue between Canadian and American donors with an interest in the work of the Gallery.

Naming Opportunities

The Gallery is offering its existing and prospective patrons the opportunity to sponsor its most important galleries and public spaces.
