Michael Adams is Senior Strategic Advisor at Cistel Technologies, an information technology company based in Ottawa. He has worked for more than 35 years in the banking and financial services industry. Mr. Adams began his career as a management trainee in the international division of the Bank of Montreal, where he served in different parts of Canada, as well as in London, England and New York City, at increasing levels of executive responsibility. Prior to Cistel, he was Senior Vice-President of Brookfield Soundvest, Ottawa’s oldest investment counselling firm, for over a decade. Before his return to Canada to join Brookfield Soundvest, Mr. Adams ran a wealth management group for Wachovia, one of the largest financial services companies in the U.S.
Mr. Adams is associated with several nonprofit organizations in Ottawa, including the Library and Archives Canada Foundation where he is a director and Treasurer. He is the former Chair of the Ottawa Food Bank and former Vice-President Finance, Treasurer and Director of the Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber (ICOBC). He is also a member of the Sir Winston Churchill Society of Ottawa, where he chairs the Schools Debating Program.
