Connecting Through Art

Free technology training and support for older adults.

A senior woman holds a mobile in her hands and smiles at the camera.

The National Gallery of Canada has partnered with Connected Canadians on a new initiative connecting seniors with one-on-one digital support to become comfortable navigating gallery.ca and our other platforms.

Together we have developed a customized program that helps older adults stay connected with us through our virtual programming. Everyone should be empowered to use technology, and have access to explore art and your NGC online.

Connected Canadians is a nonprofit organization that promotes digital literacy skills amongst older adults by providing free technology training and support.

Tours for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.

A senior man and woman are interacting with the Gallery interpreter.
A Gallery Educator is giving a tour to a group of senior people.

In collaboration with the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County, the Gallery invites you to focussed online program for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.  Everyone is encouraged to share their insights and enjoy artworks from the comfort of their homes.

These programs provide opportunities for people living with dementia to experience “in the moment” pleasure as they consider art and connect with others. Join us for a virtual program starting in October.
