Best known as a founding member of the Group of Seven and a pioneer of modernism in Canadian landscape painting, James Edward Hervey MacDonald MacDonald (1873-1932) was also a highly accomplished graphic designer. This exhibition brings together an outstanding selection of MacDonald’s design work, including book and magazine illustrations, bookplates, exhibition catalogues, and posters, from the National Gallery of Canada and other collections.
