The National Gallery of Canada is pleased to present a retrospective that celebrates the career of Vancouver artist Gathie Falk, one of Canada's true cultural treasures. The exhibition Gathie Falk excites the imagination by unveiling the witty and unexpected in the everyday. On view at the National Gallery of Canada from 1 February to 5 May 2002. The exhibition Gathie Falk brings together nearly eighty works from public and private collections across Canada. It focuses on significant bodies of work dating from the early ceramic sculptures of the 1970s to the complex mixed-media installations of the present. In acknowledgement of Falk's lifelong working methodology based on the production of extended series of works grouped around specific subjects, the exhibition presents an in depth study of some of her most famous works.
