This major retrospective of the career of Edwin Holgate (1892–1977), a central figure in Montreal’s art community and the history of Canadian art, features more than 150 works, including a selection of paintings, drawings, watercolours, prints, book illustrations, and archival photographs. Best known for his portraits and nude studies, Holgate also painted landscapes and was a master of wood engraving.
