bronze with inlay 48.2 cm high Gift of Max Tanenbaum, Toronto, 1980
National Gallery of Canada (no. 26699)
This Himalayan bronze of remarkable dimensions is inlaid and painted with red lacquer for the god's lips and nails. Bronze is a fragile material: the back of the statue was seriously damaged, most probably during a fall.
