Wild Nights / The Unswept Floor
1989
Category:
This work, which takes its title from a poem by Emily Dickinson, provides a stage for Miasma / Hyena and the Valve and an antidote to its more difficult subject matter. Both were part of the exhibition Eat Me, Drink Me, Love Me. Titled after a homoerotic poem by Christina Rossetti, the show explored themes of female pleasure and lesbian identity. Here, the patterns on the floor connect pleasure to a holistic and celebratory view of the natural world.
