Commissioned by Hiram Walker, this lavish trophy was presented to the Ontario Jockey Club. Joseph Emm Seagram won the trophy in both 1894 and 1895, and these successive victories earned him the right to keep it. Around the lower part of the body, three jockeys and their mounts, modelled with superb realism, gallop wildly past a crowded stand. The letter "W" on the shield adorning the lid, held by a lion rampant, alludes to the identity of the commissioner.
