Through performative actions Belmore uses her body to bring visibility to the disenfranchised and memorialize victims of violence and acts of resistance. This video installation is an extension of her 2002 performance in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside that drew attention to the disappearance of dozens of women from that area. The work functions as an ongoing form of protest and memorial.
