Sun Dogs

1989
Sun Dogs depicts the meteorological phenomena also known as “mock suns,” small reflections of light that appear on either side of the sun on cold days. Ewen’s fascination with – and reverence for – everyday experience is accentuated by his intense manipulation of the materials, with gouged plywood acting as a support for the incorporation of metals and other objects, revealing the process of making.
