This artist, who died young, was a student of Guido Reni, but was equally attracted to the style of the Carracci. This drawing represents the iconic, non-narrative subject of the Virgin and Child attended in glory by angels. It may relate to an altarpiece now in the Fano museum in which two saints are depicted in the lower foreground. The inscription relates to the artist's birthplace and to his alias, "il Pesarese".
