Tony Cragg

Red S

1983
Tony Cragg's collections of found objects reflect the production, functionality, and waste of industrial society. Here, the colour red unites objects ranging from children's things, once bright and gay, to industrial containers coloured to warn of their dangerous contents. Cragg "draws" with the objects, arranging them in the form of the letter S, an arrangement that might recall a sweeping view of a modern city.
