Panorama with Hand

Giovanni Anselmo brings together the made objects of art - such as this drawing - with materials from the natural world - here, the rock - in order to direct our perception of both art and nature in new ways. His work operates by poetic suggestion. In "Panorama with Hand", the gesture of the upturned palm might suggest a vista, and the rock a fragment of terrain, a viewing point from which to look out across the imaginary landscape.
