Kazuo Nakamura

Number Structure

1980
Nakamura draws with numbers, building patterns by simple calculations and producing tables or strings of numerals that have a visual presence we might not otherwise associate with mathematics. Occasionally, he has seen his patterns echoed in the numerical maps scientists use to describe natural structures like DNA - evidence that basic, understandable concepts underlie nature's amazing complexities.
