Little Egypt

1961
"Little Egypt" is constructed out of found objects - pieces of canvas, wood, cardboard and a broken mirror. The mirror fragment invites the public to view themselves in the painting. The title refers to the diminutive size of the pyramidal form, but also, most probably, to the famous belly dancer Little Egypt, who performed at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
