Here, Alasua Amittu portrays the armless mythical creature called the “Kutjujajurq.” A well-known storyteller he later collaborated with anthropologist Bernard Saladin d’Anglure and others to record his life story, thoughts on creating art, and approach to sculpture in La Parole changée en pierre, Vie et oeuvre de Davidialuk Alasuaq, artiste inuit du Québec arctique, published in 1978, two years after his death.
