The painting probably represents the Raja Kesri Singh of Bikaner, at left, with a guest. Kesri Singh was the younger brother of the Maharaja Anup Singh, ruler of Bikaner from 1669 to 1698. The brothers served at the imperial court at Delhi, which explains the adoption of the Mughal style at Bikaner.
