Igloo and Dog Team

1961
Category:
In this winter camp scene, long harpoon lines made of skin are coiled tightly and hung overhead, out of reach of the dogs that might chew them. Likewise, the qamutik (sled) is raised off the ground to protect its runners and keep it away from the dogs.
