Category:
In an interview published in Uqalurait, George Kuptana describes the effects of the spring arrival of the caribou: “When there are herds of caribou migrating on the land the land usually sounds like thunder and it shakes. When herds start going into the rivers or falling into the water to cross the river, qajait [kayaks] are usually waiting in the water. The land sure gets noisy!”
