Green Apples

Leduc's painting of his orchard near Mont Saint-Hilaire is highly symbolic. Through the interlaced branches of an apple tree carrying an abundance of fruit we see the warm glow of the sun. In this idyllic scene, the viewer is presented with food for the body and light for the mind, both essential to spiritual enlightenment.
