The initial ideas for "Draw Me A Picture" were conceived during a residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. What began as a side project transitioned into a conceptual approach utilizing landscape drawing and painting. The artist employs the effects of velocity and gravity to create a real-time relationship with the fleeting landscape. The project was filmed in Monument Valley, Arizona - a particularly compelling choice of context as the artist is from the Navajo nation and this is his traditional territory. This renowned park has also frequently been used as a stand-in for the "Wild West" in both historical and contemporary media.
