Robert Fones

Butter Models

1979
Robert Fones has been described as "a devoted student of (Ontario's) botany and its place names, its industrial history, and anecdotes from the lives of its ordinary people." "Butter Models" encompasses many of these interests. It is based upon a collection of wrappers from creameries across Ontario, their locations identified and located on a map illustrating the province's rivers and so placing the manufacture of butter in the broad context of natural history.
