Announcing the Longlist of the New Generation Photography Award, presented by the Canadian Photography Institute and Scotiabank


Established in 2017, the New Generation Photography Award celebrates the vision of talented artists at the beginning of their career. Art experts from across the country are contacted to submit their choices.

On April 3, 2019, three winners will be announced, selected by an esteemed jury consisting of Canadian and international photography experts, artists, and leaders in the community. Each winner will receive a cash prize of $10,000. Furthermore, they will be featured in a group exhibition at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto during the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, from May 1 to June 9, 2019, and at the Canadian Photography Institute PhotoLab of the National Gallery of Canada, in Ottawa, starting September 27, 2019.
