Open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday to 8 pm. Open Remembrance Day starting at noon, during Spring Break Week and Easter Monday. Open Thanksgiving Monday, 24 and 31 December. Closed 25 December, 1 January and Good Friday.

Yes, the National Gallery has an underground parking garage; $2.50 per half-hour, daily maximum $12 (Members $10). No evening rate.
You can purchase tickets at the Gallery’s box office in person, or by phone at 613-998-8888 or 1-888-541-8888 (service charges apply to purchases by phone).

All bags are subject to being searched upon entering or leaving the building. Bags larger than 16’’ X 12’’ (30 x 40 cm), backpacks and umbrellas must be checked in the cloakroom (free of charge). We also recommend that you check your coat. Balloons, flags and banners are not permitted inside the building. No food or beverages are permitted in the Gallery.
Yes. Strollers and wheelchairs provided free of charge at the Foyer Information Desk.
You can enjoy a range of food-service areas, each offering an interesting and unique variety;

If you’ve lost something at the Gallery, you can inquire at the Cloakroom.
Visitors may take pictures for personal use, with a hand-held camera and electronic flash, only of the public spaces of the National Gallery of Canada. For copyright reasons, it is not permitted to reproduce or to sell the photographs, or to photograph works in the exhibition galleries.
Professional photographic equipment, video cameras, recording devices, tripods, lights and other such equipment are not permitted without prior approval from Gallery authorities.
Audioguides for the Permanent Collection are available (cost $6) at the information desk in the Great Hall.
No. In the Entertainment Booklet (valid until 30 November 2007) there is a coupon that entitles the visitor 2 for 1 admission to the NGC Permanent Collection. This coupon is valid only for the Permanent Collection and cannot be used for any special exhibitions on view at that time.
No. Every Thursday evening, from 5pm until 8pm, admission is free to the National Gallery of Canada's permanent collection. This does not include any Special Exhibitions on view at that time.
If you have a complimentary pass, please exchange it for a timed ticket at the box office in the main entrance of the Gallery.
Boutique Gift Certificates, available in any amount may be obtained by contacting a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-319-ARTS or by e-mail at ngcbook@gallery.ca. Please note that Gift Certificates may only be redeemed in-store and cannot be used online.

If you wish to obtain photographic material or reproduce an NGC/CMCP image, you must apply for permission to do so. Fill out the online form.
If you’re not sure which image you would like to use, you can search the online collection or view the top 10 requested images.

Our virtual boutique offers 300 items from the NGC bookstore, including catalogues, books, posters, stationery, DVDs, games, and special exhibitions merchandise. You can also purchase tickets for the NGC’s special exhibitions. Visit www.shopNGC.ca to discover your online store.
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.
Shipping and Handling rates are calculated separately for each shipping address. We ship using FedEx. Please refer to the “Shipping Options” page for more information.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your merchandise within 30 days for exchange or refund. To obtain a return authorization, please contact customer service by e-mail (ngcbook@gallery.ca) or call; 1-800-319-ARTS. For additional information, please see our Return Policy page. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Most of our products can be shipped to international addresses. Recipients are responsible for paying all applicable customs, duties and taxes upon delivery. Shipping rates are calculated based on the destination.
