Peter Pitseolak, Inuit Photographer
25 Jan 2002 - 07 Apr 2002
In the early 1940s, Peter Pitseolak bought his first camera and began taking pictures of his family and friends in the northern community of Cape Dorset. The images depict aspects of traditional Inuit culture that would undergo radical change in the coming decades. Pitseolak was determined to record what he saw around him for his grandchildren and future generations of Inuit people.
