Goodridge Roberts (1904–1974) is well-known for his landscape,
still-life and figure painting. This exhibition will examine another
aspect of his work: drawings from the 1930s and early 1940s
that record his daily life, caricatures, and cartoons from a
collection of 384 drawings donated to the National Gallery
of Canada Library and Archives in 1999. Rarely exhibited
during Roberts’s life, he made these drawings for his own
amusement and to share with family and friends.
Organized by the National Gallery of Canada Library and Archives.
Open during Library Reading Room hours.
