Profile of Nihilist Spasm Band vocalist Bill Exley
In this work, Greg Curnoe employs spontaneously painted, simplified, colourful shapes that reflect his interest in comic books and in Neo-Dadaism, a movement that celebrated accident and chance in art. A native of London, Ontario, Curnoe created art that was highly autobiographical, rooted in his passion for family, friends, jazz, cycling, and local heroes. Here, the work features the profile of his friend Bill Exley.
