In 1961, the third Cape Dorset print collection included ten prints by Pudlo, his first published works. Like "Avingaluk", they consisted mainly of silhouette-like forms. The isolation of a single motif on the page is typical of the first works of many Inuit artists. This manner of depiction may be related to the way objects are seen against the background (often white) of the Arctic landscape. However, the large scale of Pudlo's images makes them distinctive.
