Although Jessie Oonark lived in Baker Lake, a number of her drawings were made into prints in Cape Dorset in 1960–61. Created only in black and white, they nonetheless highight Oonark’s compositional style and decorative forms. She depicted facial tattoos in a number of her works. Tattoos, hairstyles and clothing allowed Oonark room to play with elements of design.
