While Inuit artists draw upon their lives and culture for inspiration, the sculptures they create may be taken to another level when viewers bring their own associations and find parallels with other artists and art forms. Although separated by time, geography, culture, and language, is it possible that the calm, other-worldly expression of Qaqaq's sea spirit recalls a similar aesthetic expressed in some classical Greek or Asian sculpture?
