In the late 1920s Hébert sculpted a series of nude figures with titles evoking the urban culture of the modern age such as "Flapper" and "Charleston". Always working from a live model, Hébert has treated the model in a relaxed and natural pose, an effect heightened by the sensitive treatment of the face, that of a woman rather than a performer.
