Piano made by Reid Brothers Manufacturing Company, Toronto
In 1900 Reid exhibited this piano in the first exhibition of applied art organized by the Ontario Society of Artists of which he was President. The piano’s stained and waxed oak and plain construction were much admired by commentators at the time. The painted decorations on the themes of music and nature enhance the connections between the arts.
