In this work, the mirror, the street scene, and the objects on the table all help to build a composition with multiple realities. At first glance, the print appears to be a conventional still life. A closer examination, however, reveals that the work contains a physical impossibility. The angle of the mirror, which tilts upwards toward the sky, could not possibly reflect the image of a street from an opposite window.
