Art became the frequent subject of painting in the 1890s as Canadian artists investigated the role of the artist, the studio and the creative process. Here Leduc’s younger brother takes notes from an art periodical that rests on a catalogue of the Paris salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. It was only in 1897 that Ozias Leduc was able to go to Paris.
