The Online Art Book Project and the Future of Canadian Art History
    Duration : 1h
    Auditorium

In 2013, Sara Angel started the Canadian Online Art Book Project in order to bring Canadian art history into contemporary conversation. Since then, the Art Canada Institute has published a library of digital art books—all available for free and released simultaneously in French and English—on key artists that have defined the country's visual culture. This talk will address how she brought Canadian art history into the digital age and explore why it is more relevant now than ever before.

    In English with simultaneous translation.

Sara Angel is the Founder and Executive Director of the Art Canada Institute at Massey College, University of Toronto, a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to making Canadian art history a 21st century conversation. She holds a Trudeau Doctoral Scholarship, the most prestigious award of its kind in Canada, given for innovative ideas that will help solve issues of critical importance to Canadians.
