National Gallery of Canada Announces New Director Employee/Employer Relations

The National Gallery of Canada is pleased to announce the arrival of Ruben Benmergui as the new Director, Employee/Employer Relations. Mr. Benmergui will join the National Gallery's Senior Management team starting on 2 January 2002.

With significant experience in general human resources, employee/labour relations, compensation, and organizational development, Ruben Benmergui was consultant at Labourtech Consultant for ten years. Prior to that time, he was Director of Human Resources for the Oshawa General Hospital. He has worked and taught in several public and private agencies in the fields of labour relations, human resources management and compensation. Ruben Benmergui has a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen's University and a B.A. from McMaster University. He has also been certified by the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario.

As Director, Employee/Employer Relations, Ruben Benmergui will be responsible for the National Gallery of Canada's newly created position of human resources and employee relations.
