Summer Exhibition Gustav Klimt Tickets Now On Sale

Gustav Klimt was a painter and a prolific draughtsman who led the Austrian Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th Century. Known for his "golden period" paintings and sensual drawings, Klimt is admired among art aficionados and mass audiences alike. This summer, the National Gallery of Canada provides visitors with a unique opportunity to explore Klimt's entire career. Gustav Klimt: Modernism in the Making is the first solo exhibition devoted to the artist to be held in North America. Thirty- five paintings and 95 drawings from international collections are featured in this retrospective which is on view from 15 June to 16 September 2001. Tickets are now on sale. Ottawa is the only venue.

New this Summer!
The National Gallery of Canada has introduced two new pricing categories for its special exhibition this summer. Youth between the ages of 12 and 19 can visit Gustav Klimt: Modernism in the Making for $5. A new family rate of $24 applies to a maximum of two adults and three children.
Gustav Klimt: Modernism in the Making is organized by the National Gallery of Canada, presented with the generous support of AIMS Funds and Trimark Investments, and is supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage.
