The Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada in mourning
Ottawa - September 24, 2007
The members of the board of directors of the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), meeting in Halifax yesterday, were saddened to hear of the death of Ken Danby. Mr. Danby sat on the NGC’s Board of Trustees for four and a half years, starting in 1991.
Mr. Danby was known for his great love of the arts. Throughout his life, he encouraged young people to learn about the arts, for he felt that they are just as important as the sciences in a well-rounded education and full personal development.
The Chairman and the members of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada offer their sincere condolences to Ken Danby’s family and friends.
