Theme:

Orange and Green Bi-serial is part of a series of large format paintings in which Molinari focuses on the pure plastic elements of painting, where colour is key. The vertical stripe motif allowed him to compose colour in series, creating optical rhythms of intensely chromatic, highly differentiated colours. The artist explains, "In 1964, I began my research into seriality, arranging the elements in series where the chromatic units are repeated two, three, four times but the order of each series is different."
