Black Volume is part of a series of single works, in which the artist adopts the basic form of a rectangular block. The series of Volumes explores the problem of monochromatic surfaces. The works vary in colour, surface treatment and material. Their properties of reflection, absorption and/or association set up very different relations with the viewer.
